The cemetery could only be the earlier cemetery in existence pre 1854 situated in the north east corner of the future town of Tambaroora. The service was conducted by the Reverend Edmund B. Proctor, duly appointed as Minister in the Gold Districts of Meroo and Tambaroora and appointed to reside within the said Districts. (653)The exact location of this grave is unknown but as the death occurred before 1855 the interment is somewhere within the cemetery fence line shown on the plan.
