OA-01 |
This settlement was to eventually become the hub of the Chinese presence in Tambaroora from the early 1860's on. See also OA-03 and OA-11 for details on the first Chinese settlements. Location: 1922 Map (371) In and around Section 1 on the northern boundary of the town. Section One was first located on the east side of Mudgee Road as shown on the 1877 Map, some time after 1877 it was re-located to the west side of the road as seen on the 1892 Map. Section One in the 1892 map partially covers Chinatown. As can be seen in this allocation of new Lot Numbers, and Deposited Plan Number for Section 1, a new DP was issued in 2006 which covered this Section, it changed Lot numbers and combined some of the Lots, Lot 1 became Lot 7022, Lot 2 did not change and was not included in the new DP, Lots 3 and 4 were combined to make Lot 7023 and the unnumbered Lots in the western portion of the Section were allocated Lot 7021.
