Section One was first located on the east side of Mudgee Road as shown on the 1877 Map, some time after 1877 it was re-located to the west side of the road as seen on the 1892 Map. Section One in the 1892 map partially covers Chinatown. As can be seen in this Allocation of New Lot Numbers and Deposited Plan Number for Section 1 a new DP was issued in 2006 which covered this Section, it changed Lot numbers and combined some of the Lots, Lot 1 became Lot 7022, Lot 2 did not change and was not included in the new DP, Lots 3 and 4 were combined to make Lot 7023 and the unnumbered Lots in the western portion of the Section were allocated Lot 7021. |

Lots 7, 8 and 9 These were combined after William LEY was placed under sequestration and entered voluntary insolvency, the Official Assignee John Piper MacKENZIE became the new owner. Subsequent Certificates of Title noted the three Lots on the one Title. The various dates of Transfer appear different on the old and new Titles, this I think is just an administrative delay between the actual Transfer date and the signing of the new Title by the Registrar General. |

Section 4 Notes |
Lot 2 4th Jul 1864 - The owner of this Lot, Edward LONG was placed under sequestration and entered voluntary insolvency and an Official Assignee was appointed to administer the Estate. This Lot already had established business houses on the site and in all probability occupied by tenants who eventually purchased the Lot. The Lot was sold in two portions, the northern portion was purchased by Henry THOMPSON a butcher of Tambaroora, the other portion was purchased by Luke SALKELD a Hotelkeeper of Tambaroora. The new proprietors occupations gives an indication of the type of businesses conducted on the site, a functioning hotel and butcher shop. Images clearly show that the Royal Hotel was on the site. On the northern side and attached to the single storey section of the Hotel were three timber walled bark roofed buildings, typical of the early structures in Tambaroora, which would have been part of the Lot as the frontage on Mudgee Road for this Lot was 150 feet. The image "Chinese man outside a house" is a single storey brick building attached to the Hotel and the image "Woman and men outside a building" shows a butchers block on the right of the image, this may have been Henry THOMPSONS Butcher shop located on the Lot. |
