James may have changed his religion from Presbyterian to Church of England (C of E), Hodges notes in his book(1) that James accommodated Bishops in Craigmoor on numerous occasions, was involved in the construction of the new C of E Saint Andrews church and was a Trustee, he is also listed in the C of E Parish Records for Tambaroora.
James passed away intestate, having a £200/0/0 mortgage on his house and land. NO information regarding the family plot or monument (2).
