RACECOURSE - Lot 208
(Information to be added when found)
Research as at 2022 has only found two references to this Race Course:
a Crown Survey Plan drawn for Lot 208 showing the proposed location of the race course, the survey was completed on the 6 August 1901, and
a reference to the survey being undertaken in a newspaper article dated 8 August 1901, see the article below.
The Race Course was to be situated on the 67 acre 2 roods Lot 208, which now forms part of Lot 91 in the Parish of Carroll. Crown Plan 3798-2091 of 1901 shows detail of the proposed race course on Lot 208, the Lot was within the Hill End and Tambaroora Common at the time of the survey and was applied for by the Hill End and Tambaroora Race Club.
The Common was reduced in size in 1903 and sometime after this the Lot was absorbed into Lot 91 in the Parish of Carroll when the unalotted Crown land left over from the Common restructure was made available for settlement.
The site is now within Lot 91 DP 756873 which forms part of History Hill.
The newspaper article below indicates where the race course was to be located.
