Information to be continually added
The reference source for all data below other than "Note:" is from the first Title Document issued for that Lot so there maybe subsequent owners on later Title documents who do not appear. Details of the source are listed under Title Type and Title No. for each Lot.
No details of Caveats, Warrants of Execution, Writs of Fieri Facias or any other legal matters are included in the history of the Lots.
Title dates may not be accurate as there are in some cases delays from the time of acquisition to the time the document was recorded, in some cases up to two years delay.
Extensive research was undertaken by Cec Bartlett in 1988 on the Lots and Sections of the Town of Tambaroora and the Village of Hill End, this work is being administered by the Hill End and Tambaroora Gathering Group at Hill End.
Where a Lot has been sub-divided in its life I have added an alpha lettering to define the later Lot/s, this sytem does not in anyway reflect the numbering system used by the Government Body of the day to identify a Lot.

Lots 7, 8 and 9 These were combined after William LEY was placed under sequestration and entered voluntary insolvency, the Official Assignee John Piper MacKENZIE became the new owner. Subsequent Certificates of Title noted the three Lots on the one Title. The various dates of Transfer appear different on the old and new Titles, this I think is just an administrative delay between the actual Transfer date and the signing of the new Title by the Registrar General. |

Footings, Store and Dwelling The stone wall seen in the image represents the footings of the front verandah of a General Store built in 1872 by Mrs. Harriet Beard. At a later date the Post Office occupied space within the General Store. The building was constructed of red brick, remnants still remain scattered on the Lot. The building can be seen in an image in the Photo Album, go to the Photo Album then look for "View over Chinatown looking south c.1890's / 1900's" click on the Zoomable Image button. It is on the left hand side of Mudgee Road looking south, with pointed roof of iron, walls are of brick. |

| Lot 2 4th Jul 1864 - The owner of this Lot, Edward LONG was placed under sequestration and entered voluntary insolvency and an Official Assignee was appointed to administer the Estate. This Lot already had established business houses on the site and in all probability occupied by tenants who eventually purchased the Lot. The Lot was sold in two portions, the northern portion was purchased by Henry THOMPSON a butcher of Tambaroora, the other portion was purchased by Luke SALKELD a Hotelkeeper of Tambaroora. The new proprietors occupations gives an indication of the type of businesses conducted on the site, a functioning hotel and butcher shop. Images clearly show that the Royal Hotel was on the site. On the northern side and attached to the single storey section of the Hotel were three timber walled bark roofed buildings, typical of the early structures in Tambaroora, which would have been part of the Lot as the frontage on Mudgee Road for this Lot was 150 feet. The image "Chinese man outside a house" is a single storey brick building attached to the Hotel and the image "Woman and men outside a building" shows a butchers block on the right of the image, this may have been Henry THOMPSONS Butcher shop located on the Lot. |
