Bio Notes: | Walter was born in Bristol England in 1805, parents were Richard Heness and Elizabeth Gooch. He was sent to NSW in 1822 as a convict on the “Mary”. He married Sarah Hall in 1834, and they had 7 children. At some stage he left the Camden district and travelled to the Gold Fields at Tambaroora, dying there in 1863. His family did not accompany him as far as is known, hence the wrong spelling of his name and the lack of detail on his death certificate (see INNES Walter).
